Garnet blasting abrasives is a naturally occuring silicate mineral deposit.

The harder species of garnet like almandine are used for abrasive purposes, and have a hardness on the Mohs scale of about 6.5 to 7.5. Once extracted, it is washed, processed and screened to the necessary grade for use as an abrasive.

Clean – Garnet abrasive produces less dust than other expendable abrasives, making it ideal for use in tanks and other confined spaces.

Cost-Effective – Garnet abrasive lasts a long time, and is so effective that lower volumes overall are required for most jobs.

Garnet Abrasive is semi reusable and can be re-used several times under correct conditions. It does break down quicker than fully re-usable abrasives such as aluminium oxide.

First look at the colour, observe whether the colour of garnet waterjet sand is pink, light red, or deep red. Beach garnet is pink in colour, and ferroaluminum garnet is dark red in colour because it is rich in Fe2O3 and Al2O3, and belongs to the hardest ferroaluminum garnet in the garnet family.

Second, Hardness, rub it with your hand and observe the degree of pulverisation of garnet waterjet sand. Iron aluminium garnet waterjet sand is selected from the hard iron aluminium garnet primary ore, hardness 7.5-8, after 4 times of careful crushing, sharp edges, low breakage rate.

Three, distinguish impurities, take the same number of different manufacturers of waterjet sand into a mineral water bottle (half a paper cup of sand is appropriate, generally according to the ratio of 1:9) filled with water, shake, compare the turbidity of the water, and whether there are floating impurities. Bing Yang's waterjet grit has been washed 6 times, and there is no dust and ineffective fine particles to affect the cutting efficiency and hinder the free flow of garnet.

Four, look at the particle size distribution
