Silicon carbide (also known as: carbon silicon stone, diamond sand or refractory sand), chemical formula: SiC, is a wear-resistant material made of quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal coke) and sawdust through high-temperature smelting in a resistance furnace. Silicon carbide is made of high-quality quartz sand and petroleum coke in a resistance furnace to form silicon carbide blocks, which are then crushed, acid-alkali washed, magnetically separated and screened or water-separated to produce products of various particle sizes.

The silicon carbide produced by our factory is divided into black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, both of which are hexagonal crystals with a specific gravity of 3.20-3.25, Sio2: 97-98%, Mohs hardness: 9.5, Fe2o3: 0.02%.

Black silicon carbide contains about 98% SiC, has a metallic luster, and has higher toughness than green silicon carbide. It is mostly used to process materials with low tensile strength, such as glass, ceramics, stone, refractory materials, cast iron and non-ferrous metals, and is mainly used for grinding cast iron and non-metallic materials.

Green silicon carbide contains more than about 98.5% SiC and has good self-sharpening properties. It is mostly used to process cemented carbide, titanium alloy and optical glass, and is also used for honing cylinder liners and fine grinding high-speed steel tools. In addition, there is cubic silicon carbide, which is a yellow-green crystal made by a special process. The grinding tools used to make it are suitable for ultra-finishing of bearings, and can reduce the surface roughness from Ra32~0.16 microns to Ra0.04~0.02 microns in one go.

1. Abrasives, grinding, polishing, sandblasting, etc. (silicon carbide sand/silicon carbide grain size sand)
Silicon carbide is mainly used as an abrasive to make grinding wheels, sandpaper, sanding belts, oilstones, grinding blocks, grinding heads, grinding pastes, etc.
Silicon carbide can be used to make bonded abrasives, coated abrasives and free grinding to process glass, ceramics, stone, jade, cast iron, stainless steel, floor tiles and some non-ferrous metals, cemented carbide, titanium alloy, high-speed steel tools and grinding wheels, etc.

2. Refractory materials (silicon carbide powder, silicon carbide particles)
As an inorganic non-metallic material, silicon carbide has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and wear resistance. Silicon carbide products combined with silicon nitride can be used in blast furnace ceramic cups and other places. Silicon carbide can also be added as an antioxidant in unfired bricks such as aluminum-magnesium carbon bricks for ladles.
Refractory boards made of silicon carbide have high compressive strength and long service life: low heat capacity, low thermal conductivity; non-brittle material, good toughness; precise size, good flatness; easy to cut and install, convenient construction; excellent wind erosion resistance; continuous production, uniform fiber distribution, stable performance; excellent sound absorption and noise reduction performance.

3. Steelmaking and casting industry (silicon carbide balls, silicon carbide blocks, silicon carbide particles, silicon carbide powder)
Silicon carbide as a steelmaking deoxidizer can stabilize the quality of molten steel, and has the function of refining grains and removing impurities in molten steel. After use, the casting temperature of molten steel is high, the quality of the ingot is good, and the unit cost is low.
Silicon carbide can replace ferrosilicon and carburizer, and the amount of FeALSi is also reduced, which can effectively reduce the cost of steelmaking.

4. Photovoltaic industry, polishing, grinding (silicon carbide powder)
Silicon carbide powder is mainly used in the manufacture of refractory products, foam ceramic industry, solar silicon panel cutting, crystal cutting and grinding, automobile engine parts manufacturing, special coating industry, plastic product modification, desulfurization, power supply, environmental protection industry, etc.
