The Advantages of wet and dry sandpaper 1500
Superior Finish: Water lubricates the surface, allowing the abrasive to create very fine, consistent scratches. This is essential for achieving a "glass smooth" surface before polishing, especially in automotive painting.
No Clogging: The slurry of water and sanded material is washed off the surface and the paper. This keeps the abrasive grains exposed and cutting efficiently for much longer. This is critical when sanding soft materials like primer, clear coat, or fillers.

No Dust: The water traps all the particles, making it a much cleaner and healthier process. There's no harmful dust to breathe in or settle all over your workspace.
Reduced Heat: The water cools the surface, which is vital when sanding automotive paint or plastics to prevent burning or melting.
Wet and dry sandpaper, also known as water-resistant sandpaper, has strong water resistance. It can be used alone in dry grinding or in water. It is widely used in furniture polishing, stone polishing, automotive beauty, metal surface. Processing and other industries.
Silicon carbide wet and dry sandpaper 1500 Ranges and uses
Common Grit Ranges and Their Uses
Wet dry sandpaper comes in a very wide range of grits, from very coarse to extremely fine.
| Grit Range | Common Uses |
|---|---|
| Coarse (P60 - P120) | Heavy paint/rust removal, leveling severe imperfections in body filler. Rarely used wet. |
| Medium (P150 - P240) | Initial leveling of primer, removing orange peel from a new paint job, shaping. |
| Fine (P320 - P600) | The workhorse of wet sanding. Sanding primer before paint, sanding base coat, removing dirt nibs. Essential for preparation. |
| Very Fine (P800 - P1500) | Sanding clear coat to remove orange peel and imperfections before compounding and polishing. |
| Ultra Fine (P2000 - P3000) | Final scratch removal in the clear coat before polishing. Creates a hazy surface that the polish will quickly clear up. |
| Micro Grits (P5000+) | Used for polishing and removing very fine swirl marks by hand or with a specialized polisher. |

How to Wet Sand: A Step-by-Step Guide
Safety First: If you are sanding paint, especially older paint, be aware it may contain lead. Take appropriate precautions.
What You'll Need:
Wet dry sandpaper
A sanding block (for flat surfaces) or a flexible pad (for contours)
A bucket of clean water with a few drops of dish soap (soap acts as a lubricant)
Spray bottle with water
Clean, lint-free towels
Steps:
Preparation: Soak the sandpaper in the bucket of water for 5-10 minutes. This softens the backing and makes it more pliable.
Keep it Wet: This is the golden rule. The surface and the sandpaper must be constantly wet. Use the spray bottle to keep the area you're working on lubricated.
Use a Block: Always use a sanding block for flat surfaces. This applies even pressure and prevents finger grooves. For curved surfaces, use a soft foam pad.
Sand with Light Pressure: Let the sandpaper do the work. Use light, even, overlapping strokes (e.g., circular or figure-eight patterns). The goal is to level the surface, not grind it away.
Check Your Progress: Frequently wipe the area clean with a towel to check for a uniform, dull finish. If you see shiny low spots, you need to sand more. If you see you've sanded through the clear coat (a different color appears), you have a problem that will require a respray.
Clean Thoroughly: Once finished, clean the entire area thoroughly to remove all sanding slurry before moving to the next step (e.g., applying another coat of paint or polishing).
With the increase in car ownership, the automotive beauty industry is gradually increasing, and the requirements for wet dry sandpaper are getting higher and higher. We hope to introduce more popular products through our continuous innovation and research and development.
