How sandpaper produced

Sandpaper is produced by coating a paper or fabric backing with abrasive materials such as aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, or garnet. These abrasive particles are attached to the backing using an adhesive or resin and then sized or coated with a layer of lubricant or anti-clogging agent. The abrasive particles come in different grit sizes which determine the coarseness or fineness of the sandpaper. The backing material can also vary in thickness and stiffness to suit different applications. Sandpaper can be produced in various forms such as sheets, rolls, disks, and belts, and is used for smoothing or removing surfaces of materials such as wood, metal, and plastic.
