How to do automobile paint repair

1. Cleaning and degreasing:

   First spray the surface of the workpiece with degreasing agent, and prepare a clean wiping cloth to wipe the surface of the workpiece clean.

 

2. Remove old paint: Use a 6-inch circular eccentric grinder with 5mm and P80# sandpaper to remove the old paint in the damaged area, and use P120# sandpaper to polish the feathered edges.

 

3. Expanding the feathered edge: Use P180# sandpaper to expand the feathered edge, stretch and grind, clean and check the surface condition.

 

4. Anti-corrosion treatment: Epoxy primer is sprayed to cover the bare metal, pre-treatment is strictly protective to prevent corrosion and rust, and it is dried after construction.

5. Atomic putty scraping: Scratch the prepared putty on the repaired damaged area, fill it in smoothly and then dry it.

 

6. Apply toner: Use a sanding indicator to show defects such as blisters on the surface.

 

7. Polishing of putty: Use a square grinder or a 6-inch circular eccentric grinder with P180# sandpaper to smooth the surface of putty.

 

8. Polishing of putty: Use P240# sandpaper to polish the putty and edges, add a soft pad in the middle and use P320# to weaken the sand marks of putty and grind the old paint parts of the expansion board.

9.  Edge trimming: Use P400# sponge sandpaper or soft film sandpaper to polish, and grind the edges of the panels manually.

 

10. Line trimming: Use vegetable cloth or soft film sand to manually polish water chestnuts and line problems.

 

11. Masking and cleaning: Mask other parts that are not to be painted before mid-coating to prepare a comprehensive clean surface of the panel.

 

12. Primer for spraying: Prepare the paint according to the correct standard proportions and apply primer for spraying.

13. Grinding of the mid-coat: After applying the polishing indicator, use a 6-inch eccentric grinder with a middle soft pad and P320#-P400# sandpaper       to polish the mid-coat and level the primer of the mid-coat.

 

14. Corner treatment: Use P800# sponge sandpaper to fineen or roughen the corners of the mid-coat primer or places that cannot be removed by a         circular sander.

 

15. Barge treatment: Clean the entire panel and inspect it carefully. It is recommended to use gray caiguabujia (abrasive paste) to manually polish the       old paint surface of the matte finish.

 

16. Spray painting: Cover and clean the entire vehicle, mix paint and varnish according to the correct proportion of paint, and carry out spray painting.

17. After the painting is completed and the masking film is removed after drying, check the surface condition of the panel.

 

18. Remove defects: Use P2000 fine grinding water sand or dry grinding pyramid sand disc and fine grinding cotton to grind defects. If sagging or       orange peel is found, it is recommended to use P1200 or P1500 fine grinding water sand to remove it first, pyramid sanding disc, fine grinding cotton,  and grind the defects.

 

19. Polishing: The abrasive is easy to volatilize and splash during operation. Pay attention to the humidity and lubrication conditions and use a spray bottle to sprinkle water to cool down appropriately to avoid burning and blocking the paint surface, which may cause the paint surface to be thrown through!

 

20. Perfect result.
